New Web-Empowered Church Website
I finally got up the courage to try creating a new website for our church! At first it was a headache, but after getting a little bit of a handle on how to use vinehosting.com and the web empowered church software things began moving quickly. The work in progress is at www.somerspointumc.org. With this development, along with internet being installed at our church next week, I really do intend to begin blogging again--but that was the case two posts and three months ago!

Glad to see you're blogging again! Your church website looks good. I am trying to get something started for mine as well.
eric the site looked Good. I could not conquer web empowered church, so I am now looking elsewhere. Good job!
Thanks for the comments. Larry--It was crazy to me until I went ahead and purchased the level 1 hosting from vinehosting.com--about $260/year. I was able to download the WEC from there. They even had a UMC version which included several Methodist specific links which I think will be helpful.
I can set you up for next to nothing (like $2 a month). Check out - http://www.raritanvalleydistrict.org or http://conklinumc.org or http://www.monroecommunity.org. Call me. I have my opinions about WEC - like I am pretty computer literate, but I still have trouble changing WEC or typo3. I have better luck with other platforms and find them more efficient and cheaper (time and $ wise) for what we are doing at church. Call me, I'd love to talk to you.
